These Japanese 'White kitsune' earrings are from my Kawaii range of earrings, ear weights and ear hangers, made from bits and pieces I have picked up from my yearly ventures to Japan.
I found these gorgoeus fox charms on an amazing day trip to Fox Village, in Shiroshi Miyagi, Japan.
In Japanese folklore, kitsune are foxes that possess paranormal abilities that increase as they get older and wiser.
According to yokai folklore, all foxes have the ability to shapeshift into human form, and are often portrayed as faithful guardians, frinds and lovers. They are closely associated with Inari, a Shinto spirit, and serve as its messenger.
Measuring just on 6.5cms and weighing approx 13 grams each, these unique painted wood kitsune earrings have been made on 6 gauge (4mm) titanium coated stainless steel half curl hooks, to be worn in stretched lobes.
